Senior Year Elective

We accept only those students who:

  • are enrolled in a medical school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME)
  • have completed their Core Clinical Clerkships prior to participation in the CWRU Visiting Clerkship program.
  • are in good standing at their home school
  • have their school's approval to participate in the desired elective
  • have satisfied the required immunizations

Advanced Gynecologic Surgery
A four-week rotation is available through Grady GYN service and private GYN Oncologist. Participation in operating room is encouraged but subjected to patient's consent. Advanced surgical experience includes laparoscopic / Robotic surgery. Call is not required on this elective. A formal oral presentation on a GYN topic is required at the completion of this rotation. Enrollment in this elective is subject to availability.

High Risk Obstetrics and Perinatology
A four-week out patient and in patient rotation is available through Grady Memorial Hospital -- the High Risk clinic, Perinatal Center as well as the private MFM practice of the Morehouse Medical Associates. Call is not required on this elective. A formal oral presentation on an OB/GYN topic is required at the completion of this rotation. Enrollment in this elective is subject to availability.

Sub Internship in Obstetrics
The Labor and Delivery Sub internship is an intensive four-week rotation on the inpatient OB/ L&D service. The student is required to take call similar to that of any intern on the 91porn原创OB/L&D service and will participate in all departmental activities and didactics. A formal oral presentation on an OB topic is required at the completion of the rotation. Enrollment in this elective is subject to availability.

General Gynecology and Urogynecology
A four-week rotation is available through Grady GYN service and private Urogynecologist. Participation in operating room is encouraged at Grady Memorial Hospital but participation at private hospitals is limited to observation with patient's consent. Urogynecologic experience includes out-patient cystoscopy and urodynamic studies. Call is not required on this elective. A formal oral presentation on a GYN topic is required at the completion of this rotation. Enrollment in this elective is subject to availability.
